Choose Tube-Tec Bending for Certified Steel, Documented Quality, & Up to Spec Results
All A572 GR50 carbon steel used in our rolling and bending operations is fully certified and traceable to ASTM specifications. Our material sourcing and fabrication process includes:
-
Mill test reports (MTRs) for every heat
-
Material identity tags maintained throughout the workflow
-
Weld and bend documentation available upon request
-
In-house QA checks to verify bend radius accuracy, flatness, and material recovery
We understand the importance of compliance for customers working under AWS D1.1, AISC, and other structural codes—and we’re committed to helping you meet them.
Why Choose A50 Carbon Steel for Tube Bending & Rolling
A50, more formally known as ASTM A572 grade 50, is a high-strength, low-alloy carbon steel designed for improved performance in structural applications. With a minimum yield strength of 50 ksi, it offers significantly greater load-bearing capacity than standard A36 carbon steel. A50 is also more ductile, more resistant to deformation, and more forgiving under load than standard carbon steel. These traits make it ideal for tight-radius forming, structural rolling, and complex geometries.
When we roll or bend ASTM A572 GR50/A50 pipe, the steel holds its shape, resists cracking, and maintains the mechanical properties that make it structurally dependable. That’s especially critical when your final product has to meet code and perform under stress.
Structural Beam Applications
One of the most common uses of A572 GR50 is in structural beam fabrication. We regularly provide beam rolling and bending services for wide flange (W-shape) and I-beams used in:
-
Commercial and industrial construction
-
Highway and bridge infrastructure
-
Oil & gas platforms
-
Support frames and mezzanine systems
Whether it’s a sweep, off-axis twist, compound bend, or a simple uniform curve, our facility is equipped to handle beam bending for both standard and custom profiles—whether it’s a one-off job or a high-volume production run.
